Our Story

Meet Pauline McKinstry, RN

With over 30 years of clinical practice and healthcare leadership, including more than 25 years serving as a nurse within the Yale medical community, Pauline brings a depth of experience that sets The Clean Approach apart. Her career has spanned frontline patient care, nursing operations, and staff development, giving her a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to deliver excellent care at every level.

As an Assistant Nurse Manager and Charge Nurse within an academic healthcare environment, Pauline oversaw nursing operations and coordinated patient care initiatives. She later served as Director of Staff Development at a rehabilitation and health care center, where she led training and education programs that shaped the professional growth of healthcare staff.

These experiences revealed a critical gap: the same clinical standards that keep patients safe in healthcare settings were largely absent in home services. With additional certifications in public health and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, Pauline founded The Clean Approach to bridge that gap.

What working with us actually looks like

From first call to ongoing care, here is exactly what you can expect.

You reach a person, not a portal

Every inquiry, whether by phone, email, or contact form, is answered personally and same day. No automated queues, no ticketing systems, no waiting days for a callback. When you reach out, you hear back.

We assess before we begin

For homecare and cleaning, we start with a complimentary in-home consultation. We walk the space, talk through needs, and build a plan around what we actually observe. Nothing is pulled from a template.

Your team stays consistent

We match you with a dedicated caregiver or cleaning professional and protect that relationship. Substitutions only happen with your knowledge and approval, never as a routine scheduling convenience.

Families hear from us proactively

For homecare clients, family members receive regular updates: at minimum weekly, and immediately if anything changes. You should never have to chase us for information about a loved one in our care.

Clinical oversight is built into every plan

All care plans receive clinical review and periodic reassessment. If your needs shift, your plan is adjusted as soon as it is needed, not six weeks away at a scheduled review.
